Session 1:
Objective: To introduce the concept of linguistic diversity and promote curiosity about different forms of communication.


Warm-up activity (10 minutes):



  • Gather the students in a circle and ask them to share how they communicate with their family and friends.

  • Discuss the different ways of communication they mention (talking, using gestures, writing, etc.).

  • Introduce the concept of linguistic diversity and explain that people from different regions or communities may speak different languages or use different dialects.


Main activity (30 minutes):



  • Show pictures of people from different communities and ask the students to describe how they think they communicate.

  • Discuss their predictions and ask them to think about the different languages or dialects that might be spoken in these communities.

  • Read a story or show a video that highlights different forms of communication, such as sign language or indigenous languages.

  • Engage the students in a discussion about the importance of respecting and appreciating different ways of communication.


Session 2:
Objective: To explore different sources to learn about the meaning of words or terms used in different contexts or regions.


Warm-up activity (10 minutes):



  • Review the concept of linguistic diversity discussed in the previous session.

  • Brainstorm different sources of information where one could learn about the meaning of words or terms (books, internet, elders, etc.).


Main activity (30 minutes):



  • Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a different word or term.
